I have been playing guitar for 44 years and have 3 Albums to my credit [Singer/Songwriter]. I taught guitar at Metro Music [Ottawa] for 10 years, covering ages from 6 years to 70+. I also taught privately at home and have played many live solo shows. I have a solid grasp on music theory and can sight read as well as play by ear. My philosophy on teaching is to teach songs the students enjoy playing and sneak in some theory to allow them to more easily figure out songs on their own. I teach both fingerpicking and flatpicking and cover various genres of music [rock, folk, classical, jazz, blues]. References are available upon request. I do speak English and can get by with French. I live in Little Italy [downtown Ottawa]. I do have a car and can cover the Ottawa area and parts of Gatineau.

Je suis francophone et j’enseigne depuis plus de 23 ans. J’ai commencé ma carrière dans ma région natale, la Gaspésie, où j’ai travaillé pendant 5 ans. J’ai ensuite accumulé plus de 18 ans d’expérience en immersion française avec le conseil public anglophone (OCDSB). Mes expériences se situent principalement au niveau primaire, avec une spécialité pour la 1re année. Partager ma langue maternelle est tellement enrichissant pour moi!
J’aimerais offrir aux enfants un environnement où ils pourront acquérir des connaissances et s’épanouir sous plusieurs facettes. En plus de l’apprentissage du français, j’aimerais intégrer de façon quotidienne la découverte de la nature, les exercices physiques, les activités de pleine conscience, et le développement d’habiletés diverses.
Je recherche des familles qui pourront m’accueillir dans leur demeure, et ce, dans l’est d’Ottawa. Je suis aussi disponible pour du tutorat.

I have multiple degrees in science (chemistry, physics), technology (electronics) and engineering (geomatics) and enjoy presenting problems in a number of different ways in order to help students solidify knowledge. I also graduated summa cum laude in civil engineering at the University of Ottawa in 2015 where I became well-versed in fluid mechanics, statics& dynamics, and statistics/calculus at all different post-secondary levels. Feel free to send me an email if you are wondering whether I tutor a subject you are interested in. I would look forward to tutoring grade 7 and up. I could be including university level subjects online and encourage students to send problems to me in advance of sessions to better address their needs. I have had many positive reviews on other platforms and am very adaptable at fitting you into my schedule with a day or two’s notice. My teaching style adapts to students’ particular needs as I was more recently nominated for an outstanding teaching assistant award at Carleton while also completing a certificate in teaching assistant at the same institution.
I can go by bus in the Ottawa region or offer lessons through zoom meetings.
